SAVANNAH RIVER AT RISK
RESEARCH
Donations to the Savannah River at Risk Campaign have allowed the Academy's researchers to provide timely, extensive data to US EPA region 4 and Georgia EPD. The final report on the Academy's research will be submittted to EPA in August, and a summary report will be dispersed at that time.
CELEBRATING TEN YEARS : SWAMP SOIREE
The Academy's Annual fundraiser, Swamp Soiree, celebrated its tenth anniversary on Thursday, June 12. Special thanks to Individual and Corporte patrons supporting the Academy's education, research, and outreach programs.
A NEW CONCEPT: EARTH DAY WORKDAY '08
Nearly 70 volunteers made a hands-on statement about environmental stewardship and conservation this year by assisting in building a boardwalk around the William Bartram Rain Garden and completing other physical projects at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park. Over 80 feet of boardwalk were completed and five truckloads of exotic sea myrtle was relocated. Thank you CSRA!
7th ANNUAL SWAMP STOMP 5K
One of Georgia-Carolina's most scenic races took place April 19 at Phinizy Swamp Nature Park. Proceeds benefitted the Academy's environmental education, research, and outreach programs.

ACADEMY HOSTS SECOND
SAVANNAH RIVER AT RISK PUBLIC FORUM
After conducting extensive sampling and research, the Academy presented the Savannah River at Risk project's first year of data at the second Savannah River at Risk Public Forum, Tuesday, September 18, 2007.
